Living the Dream

Over the past couple of decades, it has become something of a norm to finance the purchase of cars and bikes using a loan. I’m talking about ordinary, everyday cars and bikes, driven by folks with ordinary, everyday jobs and not executive luxo-barges, or weekend super bikes.

The trouble is, that such purchases inevitably head down the road of capital loss, as the vehicle’s value plummets as soon as it leaves the showroom, effectively rendering it a mundane fraction of the cost of living.
Property is generally a sound investment, but there has been been another market enjoying stable, steady overall growth for quite some time now.

Classic cars and bikes. Like any investment, choosing a safer bet will often cost more, initially, but once it is safely in your possession, it can start working for you. In the meantime, that investment requires nurturing, perhaps a little improvement here and there, and definitely, driving.

Investing in classic cars and bikes can bring more than simply capital returns. With them can come rich social scenes, spontaneous conversations when out and about, along with some glorious family memories.
So why wait?

Life can be unpredictable, as we’ve all seen recently. Buying that coveted classic now could bring all of those wonderful moments right now. Borrowing money is relatively inexpensive right now and if you buy wisely, the value of the asset could soon outstrip the cost of the loan.

So, think about, but not for too long, or you may find that car or bike you’ve always promised yourself has slipped beyond your reach.
